Blogging Ideas 10 + 10

Blogging Ideas 10 + 10

Blogging can be so gratifying!  I love doing it as a sense of accomplishment, a feeling of release, and a great hobby for free!  Sometimes however, it is hard to come up with things to write about.  I have lists all over that I make, so I am never short of ideas, but often I don’t want to write about what I am scheduled to write that particular day.  Yes, I do have a schedule and actually have a calendar of posts scheduled for a few months in advance, besides all of my lists.  That makes it easy for me to sit down, have a quick glance to find something that peaks my interest that particular day, and then start writing.

I was chatting with a friend the other day and she asked me “What the heck to people blog about?” Most people have this common misconception that blogging is all just people keeping a journal online.  To some extent that is true, and for the most part, that is how a lot of blogs get started, but it is so much more than that.  You can literally blog / write about anything that you want!  If your passion is in knitting, then write about it.  If your passion is in some kind of animal, then keep a blog about.  If you own a business, keep a blog to keep your online customers up to date and entertained.  If you are an author, or some other form of entertainer, maintain a blog for your fans.  The possibilities are endless, truly!

What could you possibly say over and over again?  If people are interested in the same passions as you are, it is likely they will read whatever you write and totally love it!  Here are a few ideas perhaps to get your inspiration flowing.

Ten blog ideas you could create:

  • gardening
  • sports – any kind will do
  • your field of expertise – what do you do for a living?
  • relationships
  • healthy living
  • cooking
  • animals
  • photography
  • being a parent
  • travel

Ten ideas you could write about on your personal blog:

  • little things that annoy you
  • quotes
  • things you have learned from a book
  • how to do something
  • letter to someone
  • scariest moment of your life
  • the house you grew up in
  • how has blogging changed your life
  • you favorite things to do
  • what motivates you every day

The possibilities are endless.  I actually have put together quite a few ideas and you can purchase them here for a very small fee.  It would help support my blogging efforts.  In this ebook you will find 590 ideas for you to write about on your personal blog, which many could be used and adapted for any subject.  You will also get Blog creation ideas, and ideas to blog about on your business blogs.  More ideas than you could possible use in one or even two years!

So you say “What do you blog about?”  Well, I blog about living life from scratch, like on this blog.  I also blog about my meanderings and thoughts in life here on Walk The Creek.  I blog about my family and our life here.  I blog about being a Grandma here.  I blog about creating blogs and using blogs for your business here.  I blog about personal and home preparedness here.  I have a blog that I maintain about the City I live in and have created it for business connections and resources in Medicine Hat.   I am in the process of making one that my family can share recipes with each other on.  I also have a few other ideas that may be created in the near future.  I love to write, and I hope that someday I can honestly say I am a full time blogger as well as an author.  Oh ya, you can also find me on my Amazon Author Page

As you can see the possibilities are really endless like I said.  If you love it, you can write about it.

If you need more ideas or have any questions – don’t hesitate to ask!  I love chatting with people and will love chatting with you!

The Ruts of Life

Have you ever wondered what your purpose in life is supposed to be?  Do you ever feel like you are just wandering aimlessly from task to task, and day to day, never really accomplishing anything?  I am finding more and more that seems to be the case with most people. They just live day to day with no real purpose in life, never really caring if they accomplish anything, because there is not a lot of hope or passion to move forward and accomplish things.

The ruts of life.

The ruts of life.

If you find yourself in the ruts of life, believe me you are not alone.  The majority of the world is right there along with you.  Does that make it okay?  I don’t think so.  You see, I believe that we all have a purpose to serve, and we all have a responsibility to find out what that purpose is.  If you don’t know what your purpose is, how can you find out?

First off, you can create a list of things that you feel you are really good at.  If you have any talents, list them.  Keep in mind talents don’t just mean artistic things.  You can have the talent of talking to people, the talent of cleaning, the talent of organization, and countless others.  Often our talents are the things that we love to do.  Think of what you do in your spare time, is that your talent?  If you really can’t think of any talents, ask your friends or family what they think you do really well. Include things that you might do without even thinking of it.  Do you love to garden?  Do you like to bake?  Do you love little children?  Do you like to help people with their computers?  What ever it is…. write it down. Create that list.  Actually write them down.

Once you have your list, take some time to go over it and pick out some of the things that you do really well, or really love to do.  How can you use these things to create your purpose in life and help people?  Can you improve on some of these things?  Can you teach others some of these things?  What could you simply not live without?

I think when we dig a little deeper, we will all be able to figure out what our purpose in life is, and where we want to end up.  When we find what our purpose it, we should be passionate about fulfilling it.  Nobody else is going to make it happen.  It is all up to us.

The Frugal Living Guide

I want to share with you all one of my newly published books

The Frugal Living Guide

I wrote this book out of my own quest to really start living a more frugal life.  Not a life of squalor and going without, but a life of being smart with money, being smart with cooking, and being smart with other decisions that would allow my family to live a great comfortable life.

Much research and thought went into this book, and I really hope that as you read it, you will be inspired to also be smarter, so that you can be more comfortable and happier with life.

I believe that if you follow the principles and ideas in this book, you can save thousands of dollars each year.  It doesn’t target the rich or the poor, it works for everyone.  In fact some of the wealthiest people I know are also some of the most frugal people I know, because they follow these principles.  It will work for anyone who desires to make it work.

There are some really great recipes for cooking and cleaning.  There are lots of ideas for de-cluttering your home and your life.  There are lots and lots of frugal living ideas, hints, and helps.

You can do it.  You can make it work. There are ideas in it that are suited to work just for you!

Get it here!

One of the most tragic things I know about human nature is that all of us tend to put off living.  We are all dreaming of some magical rose garden over the horizon, instead of enjoying the roses that are blooming outside our windows today.

Where Do The Days Go?

Where Do The Days Go?

Last week, I was so excited because I had this whole next week off work!  Now this week, all I can keep saying to myself is, “Where did the days go?”.  The week is half over and I haven’t got done nearly all the things that I wanted to. My to do list is still pretty long.  I am slowly checking it off, but man oh man, life just seems to be crazy.  Don’t get me wrong, I love it, but it is crazy!

I always thought that as my kids grew up and mostly went away, that I would find more time.  No so!  I am just finding that if I want more time, I have to take it late at night or in the wee hours of the morning, when everyone else is still sleeping.  It would be nice if there were just a few more hours in the day!  This book that I have gives some really great suggestions on how to find more time, and the things that we can free up to do this.

I know that many people wonder how I find the time to maintain blogs.  Some people think that it is a waste of time. For me however, it is much more than a waste of time.  I make the time to blog for a few reasons.

1.  I really love writing and expressing my opinions. I guess in a way it is kind of like a journal for me.  Not necessarily of what I do each day, but my thoughts, feelings, and so forth.  It is kind of a way for me to release! Not only do I blog, but I have written four books, in tThe FLGhe past year and am working on a few others that will be hopefully done by summer’s end.

2. I love to research new things and write about them, because that is the way I learn the best, and I love learning. It helps me to always keep my mind alert and going.  I don’t want to ever let my mind die, and they say that if you read or write a lot, it helps to prevent Alzheimer problems as you get older. But mostly because I love learning and if I don’t know something, what better way to learn than to do a little research and either teach about it or write about it.

3. I make a little bit of money doing it, and hope to some day make enough money that writing can be my only source of income.  It takes a whack of set up work, background work, and building up of your on line presence in order to create enough traffic flow to make any money by blogging.  I have been working on setting this all up for quite some time now, and as I have been doing it, I have been researching the best ways, reading tons of books from the library, reading online, and checking out blogs and sites and so forth, that make money online.  There are quite a few different ways to make money online by blogging, and since I love it, I figure I might as well make a little money doing it, if I can.  It takes work, but I have never been afraid of work.

4.  I am doing some freelance work online too, and by always writing and keep in the loop, I keep traffic flowing to my sites, and I keep aware of things happening out there in cyberspace.  This always helps me when I am writing freelance articles.  I am finding this to be pretty cool.  I never have to leave my house to work again!  Well, not quite yet, but that is my hope, to be able to be working just from home and my trusty little computer here.

5. Writing on my blogs offers me an escape, so to speak, from my own challenges and reality.  Some days I just want to forget about my “to do” lists, forget about what is going on, and I find myself in a little corner chair just writing.  It is helps to ease my troubled soul, on the days that it needs easing. I think we all have those days, and we all have our outlets.

6. I can write whatever I want, and

I just like this picture because I love lady bugs and I love reading.

I just like this picture because I love lady bugs and I love reading.

it is okay.  That is the cool thing about writing on blogs, they can be whatever you want them to be.  I have seen blogs on pretty much every topic you can imagine.  Some I don’t even want to know are out there, but I don’t look at those kinds.  There are blogs about babies, family, music, art, feelings, anxiety, depression, religion, your life, journals, news, travel, blogging, writing books, raising animals, cooking and more cooking, preparedness, crafts, school, home school, and on and on.  There is a never ending list of what people are blogging about.  It is your baby – you can write and say whatever you want!

7. It is a free hobby / addiction.  If you need a hobby but really can’t afford what you like, try blogging.  I first started blogging with and it is so easy to set up a blog.  Within a few minutes you can be up and running and writing away.  I still have my blogs with them up, but I have transferred to wordpress now, and my blogger blogs will eventually go away.  Which do I like best?  Blogger is easier and way more user friendly, if you are just starting out.  And I actually think for basic blogging, blogger is easier to add extra things to your blog for free.  WordPress has more blog templates to choose from, some are free, some are not, but they are all pretty limited as to what you can do unless you want to pay a little bit extra and host your own blog and buy a premium template that you can adjust more to make it what you want.  So it really depends on how computer savvy you are and if you want to spend any money, or just want to do it free.  If you want to have a cheap hobby, then go with blogger and set it up.  If you want to earn a little money and make a business out of it, then perhaps wordpress is the way to go.  Both are great options.

So there you have it in a nutshell, why I spend time every day writing.  I love it!  Yuppers, it takes up some of my time, but I find that if I don’t do things that I love to do, life would be way to stressful, and not fun. Blogging isn’t for everyone, but it is for me!
